Reading have been deducted one point with immediate effect — with a further three points suspended — for failing to pay their players.
It is the third season in a row in which they have received a points deduction from the English Football League (EFL).
Late payments relate to cases in October and November 2022, and April 2023.
An independent disciplinary commission, which determined the club had breached EFL regulations, ordered the League One club’s owner, Dai Yongge, to deposit 125 per cent of the club’s monthly wage bill to avoid a further, suspended, three-point penalty.
